Welcome to the ICUC Al-Mishkat Supplementary School

In our continuous effort to serve the Muslim community in Union County and its surrounding counties of the State of New Jersey, The Islamic Center of Union County is pleased to announce Al-Mishkat Supplementary School.  We are looking forward to instructing your children and providing a nurturing environment where they can obtain the knowledge necessary to become the future leaders. We here at the ICUC believe that an Islamic Education is comprehensive consisting of Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. It with the knowledge of Arabic, the beautiful language of our holy book, which your children will be better, equipped to study the Quran.  Equally important, it is with the knowledge of Islamic Studies that your children will be given the proper tools to implement the teachings of the Quran into their everyday lives becoming model Muslim citizens.  After much research into the curriculum and methods utilized by neighboring weekend schools, we are confident that Al-Mishkat will bring your child the best possible Islamic Education.  Al-Mishkat Supplementary School will be a place run by a team of qualified and eager administrators and top-notch teachers with years of experience and patience. It was with Allah’s will that we were able to start this institution of learning and it is with your commitment and dedication that we will continue it for many years to come inshAllah.

Goals and Purpose:

Allah says in the Holy Quran “Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an in order that you may understand” (Surah Yusuf, Ayah 2). As a consequence, one of our main goals is to teach the children the beautiful Arabic language, as it is the language of the Quran. It is not enough for us to simply teach the children Arabic, but we will take it upon ourselves to relay to them the significance of learning this blessed language.

To provide the children enrolled with an education consistent with the Quran and the teachings of Sunnah and to inspire the children to lead an Islamic way of life.

To provide the children with the necessary tools to undertake the noble act of memorizing the Quran. It is our firm belief that with the Quran in our hearts and constantly on our tongues, we are within Allah’s refuge and protection.

With the knowledge that our children are the most important of our assets, it will be our objective to prepare them to be future leaders.

After all, the future of Islam depends on the time and efforts we spend in educating and nurturing our children.
